My stay at Market Street Hotel was quite enjoyable, especially thanks to the really good service from the staff, who always seemed eager to help. However, I did encounter some trouble with the air conditioning in my initial room, which impacted my sleep. Overall, the location was perfect for exploring Edinburgh, being right across from Waverley Station and close to the Royal Mile.
Rooms

I found the standard rooms spacious, but I would recommend asking for room 312 over 212 due to bed comfort. Also, the unique design features added a nice touch to the stay.
Service
8.0
The staff were uniformly friendly and provided a warm atmosphere. However, the front desk could improve efficiency, especially during check-in.
Location

The hotel's location is fantastic, just steps away from the train station and within easy walking distance of major attractions in the city.
Dining

Breakfast had some nice options, but the experience was tainted by the absence of fat-free yogurt and cold grilled tomatoes. I also found the prices a bit steep for what was served.
Facilities

The common areas were comfortable and well-designed, and I appreciated the free minibar offerings, though there were no dining options beyond small plates.

My stay at Market Street Hotel was overall very enjoyable. The location was unbeatable, right across from Waverley Station, making it incredibly easy to explore Edinburgh. However, I did have a couple of disappointments with the breakfast options, which didn't quite meet my expectations. The friendly staff really added to my experience, making me feel welcome throughout my stay.

The hotel's location is just fabulous! It allowed me easy access to most of the key attractions in the city, and being so close to the train station was a major plus, especially for day trips.

While the rooftop bar offered stunning views and the menu looked promising, I found the breakfast options lacking. Although the scrambled eggs were nice, the rest of the meal was disappointing, particularly the bland porridge and soggy black pudding.
Facilities

The hotel offered a range of facilities that made my stay comfortable, including dry cleaning and tour assistance. However, I felt there was room for improvement in the room service cleaning standards.
